European quality standards: what ISO and REACH mean for buyers

Las Raíces Agronomy Team4 min read

When you source inputs across borders, you're trusting a process you can't see. Certifications exist to make that trust verifiable.

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

ISO 9001 certifies that a manufacturer runs a documented, audited quality management system — consistency you can count on batch to batch. ISO 14001 does the same for environmental management, evidence that production respects defined environmental controls.

REACH compliance

REACH is the European Union's framework for the safe registration and handling of chemical substances. Compliance signals that a product's inputs are accounted for under one of the world's most demanding regulatory regimes.

For organic programmes, CAAE and NOP certifications extend the same logic to inputs intended for certified organic production. Taken together, they let a buyer specify with confidence.
